The Deaf Language and Culture minor not only enhances your fluency in American Sign Language and strengthens your prospects for a career in human services, but also provides you with a deep appreciation and knowledge of Deaf people, their language and their culture.Our Deaf Language and Culture program will allow students to build a solid foundation in American Sign Language as they enhance their communication skills. The minor is a perfect fit for majors in fields such as education, business, science, health science, communications, psychology and much more.True to St. Scholastica's universal focus on experiential learning, as a student in this program you will benefit from internships and immersion opportunities to socialize with members of the Deaf community. You will gain a full understanding of the Deaf history, culture and modern experience in America and around the globe.
