University of California San Diego

Program Overview

Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience is a joint major between the Department of Cognitive Science and the Department of Psychology. Students may choose to be advised by either department. Experimental psychology uses scientific tools and concepts: knowledge of formal systems such as logic or calculus, probability theory, computer science, chemistry, biology, physics, and statistics. Accordingly, students in upper-division courses must have an adequate background in these topics.
