University of DaytonThe journalism concentration is focused on how news and other information is selected, gathered, prepared, and disseminated. But our students do much more than just understand these processes; they practice and develop the necessary skills to perform at a high professional standard. You will consider both the tradition and the reality of an unfettered press, which is the essence of the First Amendment, as you develop a firm grasp of legal and ethical expectations of the profession. Through class assignments, work on the Flyer News and internships, you will begin to gain experience in the working practices of professional journalists.
