Program Overview

At the undergraduate level, the discipline emphasizes coursework in the normal communication process and an understanding of communication disorders. Advanced levels of education are directed toward learning communication assessment and treatment techniques for a wide variety of disorders, including aphasia, childhood speech disorders, voice loss following laryngectomy, cerebral palsy, cleft palate, language-learning disabilities, and hearing loss. Additionally, opportunities exist for student-faculty research at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels.
