1 CoursesBa criminology and justice studies in Humboldt state university
On Campus
This program is unique as it adopts a critical criminology perspective that moves beyond traditional understandings of crime. It unearths the social and historical processes that constitute crime. The program prepares students to be transformative leaders in a variety of locations, from probation and legal advocacy to communityactivism and policy research. Students should know that the CJS program at HSU is NOT a law enforcement or correctional officer training program. Instead, you will find a liberal arts program emphasizing critical thinking, theoretical application, and research experience. Employers tell us that these are all desirable skills for a variety of careers in private industry, state, and non-profit organizations as well as in the criminal justice field.
