Criminology, Law and Society majors learn why we have the laws we have, why the law often results in unintended consequences, who violates the law and why, and how communities respond to crime. Explore the problem of crime and the social, cultural, political, and economic forces that interact with the law. Students learn how, why, and what behaviors society chooses to control or regulate. This major provides excellent preparation for law school and careers in criminal justice and regulatory agencies, public policy organizations, social service organizations, law and legal services, and a wide variety of other areas.
