Gender studies provides an interdisciplinary, liberal arts education that examines how ideologies regarding sex, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression are infused in institutions, political and cultural practices, scientific and technological advancement, artistic expressions, belief systems, and work and social environments. The major emphasizes theory and research, historical and contemporary experiences, applied learning and multiethnic and transnational understanding.
For admission to the CSU, graduation from high school and receipt of a high school diploma are admission requirements. At the baccalaureate level, a minimum score of 500 on the paperbased exam or a score of 61 on the internet (TOEFL iBT) version is required on most campuses; ACTSAT Scores.
