Geography involves more than memorizing states and capitals. It is a unique way of looking at the world and solving problems that affect people and the environment. Students can focus on natural resources and environmental management, land use and sustainable development, social justice, climate change, international development, and many other topics. In addition, students of geography learn how to use computer mapping and satellite imagery to map and analyze patterns on the earth, ranging from neighborhoods to countries, to regions of the world.
