The world of politics has profound impacts on our lives, but it can be difficult to understand how things get done in the hallowed halls of power. The study of political science will bring you new clarity about our political processes and show you how to get involved and make a difference.St. Scholastica offers a minor in political science that brings the College's trademark liberal-arts approach to the discipline. As a student in this program, you'll begin to better understand the world around you. You will deepen your understanding of important areas like political philosophy, global politics and international relations, peace and justice studies and human rights. You'll develop skills in critical thinking, leadership, research, analysis, communication and presentation.You will have the opportunity to take part in the Washington Semester Program at American University, where you can choose from more than 10 programs in areas such as American politics, foreign policy, or international environment and development.
