B.A Psychology

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Gordon College

Program Overview

Equally important to having an empathetic spirit and compassionate connection, counselors must have a deep understanding of how brains work and how people function in cultural and developmental contexts. If you feel called to a career in counseling or related fields, the counseling concentration within the psychology major will equip you with valuable skills. As an added bonus, you can earn graduate credit and qualify for advanced placement in the master's in counseling program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. As a counseling student at Gordon, you are eligible to take advanced classes in counseling at the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary---meaning you can earn graduate credit as an undergrad. And if you pair a counseling concentration with a minor in biblical studies or theology, you can enter Gordon-Conwell with more than 30 credits toward your seminary degree. The counseling concentration is part of the psychology major, one of the largest majors at Gordon. You'll have opportunities to become a key player in publishable faculty research (or pursue your own endeavor), engage in lab projects that simulate real psychology, study brain waves, and complete internships in your area of interest.
