Program Overview

The behavioral neuroscience concentration is designed for students who want to explore human behavior from a biological perspective. Students will delve deeper into the topics of how neural communication and synaptic transmission result in overt behavior; the positive and negative influences of pharmacological agents on behavior; and the physiological basis of psychological disorders. In addition, students will have the opportunity to work in a faculty-directed research lab, assisting with innovative research in the behavioral neuroscience field. This concentration is ideal for students interested in graduate studies in behavioral neuroscience, neuropsychology, clinical psychology (with a focus on clinical neuroscience) or experimental psychology, or students interested in attending medical school to become a psychiatrist or neurologist.
