Program Overview

Terrorism -- both domestic and international -- has become a global concern. In order to become a leader in combating this issue, you need a solid foundation in what terrorism is, the threat it poses, and how to minimize risk.You will be taught by outstanding faculty members who are actively engaged and sought-after experts in the criminal justice and securities fields. You will work alongside them in hands-on criminal justice research and be connected to their network of industry professionals who can help you in your career.You will be exposed to the latest research and evidence-based practices for a well-rounded understanding of the industry.You will explore the roots of international and domestic terrorist organizations and come to understand their ideologies, as well as how they plan and recruit.You will learn how to assess threats from, and gather intelligence on, these groups.Other areas of examination will include cyber-terrorism, counterintelligence analysis and training; biological and chemical warfare; school shootings, crisis management and emergency preparation; internet recruitment and radicalization; and correctional- & community-based intelligence gathering.
