Program Overview

The sustainability studies major is for students determined to make a practical difference in the world. This interdisciplinary humanities/science degree offers two concentrations, including conservation and agriculture. Messiah University's campus has a strong sustainability program, allowing many students within this concentration to get involved with the sustainability committee, campus garden and institutional composting, vermiculture, aquaponics and forestry learning opportunities. After completing this concentration, you'll be well prepared to work in the field of agricultural development and have the knowledge, skills and experience needed to enhance the environmental sustainability of God's creation.
