Program Overview

A Bachelor of Arts in Art EC-12 trains students to become certified art teachers. Our artist/teacher training program includes relevant studio techniques, artist processes, art curriculum design, and classroom strategies. The EC-12 program produces practicing artists who are trained to teach in a variety of settings including K-12, community arts, galleries, and museums. Upon the completion of this degree, students are certified to teach art in K-12 public schools in the state of Texas.
