Program Overview

In Tyler s Metals/Jewellery/CAD-CAM program, established in 1962 by Program Head Stanley Lechtzin, students learn to design jewellery and objects of great beauty and utility using state-of-the-art tools and materials, and they learn how to make a living doing it. Students in the Metals/Jewellery/CAD-CAM program, using materials ranging from gold, silver, aluminium and bronze to modern titanium and plastics, create rings, pins, earrings, bracelets, furniture, toys, and other functional objects and product design. The faculty emphasize traditional techniques and their historical significance as well as, in advanced courses, encouraging students to use the latest technologies in the field.
