Rapid social and technological changes in the 20th and 21st Centuries have opened up countless new possibilities for the production, content, distribution and understanding of art. Today's artists are free to focus on historically recent developments such as Performance Art, Sound Art, Video Art, Computer and Net-Based Art or Art & Social Practice. They can also use aspects of these fields to inform or transform their work in media with longer traditions. New Genres and Digital Arts encourage playful and open ended exploration in this continuing field of changes. These courses focus on transforming ourselves from passive consumers to active, creative and critical producers.
