Program Overview

The BFA fibers program cultivates an environment that stimulates creative and intellectual growth. Students are encouraged to discover their distinctive expression informed by knowledge and skills related to surface design, woven structures and 3D structures. Course work covers processes from basic carding, spinning, dyeing and felting to the use of the loom. Throughout, students are challenged to utilize and interpret textile traditions while considering innovative and transdisciplinary approaches to contemporary art.
