The Studio Art Painting emphasis gives students insight into both color theory and numerous ways of making compelling images with oil paint both realistically and abstractly. Painting requires solid drawing skills and will enhance your ability to see proportions, perspective, and other methods of realism.
Our graduates find their skills useful in a variety of fields, including illustration (even digital design and illustration is enhanced by the knowledge of physical painting), 2-D animation, theater set design, mural painting, and gallery or commissioned art sales.
