This program offers the student an introduction to college studies, with emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills developed while studying courses in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies at either the college or university level. Students can also choose to continue from the one-year certificate to the two-year diploma in General Arts and Science.
OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U), Applicants must have either a postsecondary diploma or degree, in a relevant field or discipline, College or university transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received, Resum outlining work/volunteer/internship experiences, Letter of intent stating reason for applying, Test scores: TOEFL iBT of 89, IELTS of 6.5, CAEL of 60.
While most students choose General Arts and Science as a pathway to further studies, some graduates of the program find employment in occupations requiring a general education or with firms that prefer to administer their own training program.
