1 Year Part Time Certificate Program
The National Award for SEN Coordination remains a mandatory requirement for newly appointed SENCos from 2008. SENCos must complete the Award within three years of appointment. Experienced SENCos and aspirant SENCos with appropriate experience and access to working with the SEND leadership at a strategic level are also welcome to apply. The award is designed, delivered and assessed to provide evidence for National College for Teaching and Learning Outcomes standards. Engagement in the award impacts upon the provision in schools and on the progress of children with SEN.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), (QTLS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) School staff in the role of SENCo will have completed an induction period Applicants must be currently working as a teacher or a SENCo in a school. (IELTS) at level 6.5 with no scores less than 5.5 in any section.
