We have a well established partnership with over 800 secondary schools and colleges in the region and offer a wide range of secondary subject disciplines. The PGCE Science has an outstanding reputation for producing high quality science teachers. Specialisms are available in Biology, Chemistry or Physics (applicants must state their choice), we also offer Physics with Mathematics. Science teaching is a stated government priority nationally and therefore attractive bursaries are available to support your training (subject to confirmation of PGCE place).
You will normally have a minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree awarded by a UK university, or an equivalent higher education qualification. Your degree needs to support the subject knowledge requirements of the national curriculum for physics. GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics, Experience in educational settings, Interview and portfolio. A Disclosure and Barring Service Check and DfE Fitness to Teach test are also required. IELTS Band 7 with no less than 6.0 in any element.
