Program Overview

A group of courses (16 credits) designed to prepare students to Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Students will understand fundamental principles of second language acquisition. They will also learn language teaching approaches and methods and practice teaching the four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) as well as grammar and vocabulary. Other topics covered include linguistics, classroom management, curriculum design, and culture. The TEFL Certificate qualifies students to teach the English language in many international contexts.
