This Advanced Certificate Program prepares graduate students for successful and rewarding careers in public history. Students enrolled in the program improve their academic expertise, enhance their historical knowledge, and learn professional skills and methods. Additionally, they gain invaluable practical experience working at one of the many cultural institutions, museums, archives, and historic sites in New York City. Classes are scheduled exclusively in the evening to fit the work schedules of our students.
Baccalaureate or graduate degree in History or a related field and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, or current enrollment in a graduate program in History or a related field, Letter of Intent, Resume, Academic or professional writing sample, 2 letters of recommendation from professors, supervisors, or other mentors familiar with their achievements, Submit a Graduate Application, official transcripts from each college/university attended, letters of recommendation, graduate entrance exams, personal statement, Submit a proof of English Proficiency Examination, TOEFL: Minimum required score is 79 Internet, IELTS: minimum required score is 6.5 overall band, Pearson Test of English Academic: Minimum required score is 53
