This program has been developed for those seeking employment as power engineering technologists who operate and troubleshoot the energy components in such industries as industrial power plants (chemical, food, pulp and paper etc.), electrical power plants (coal, gas, nuclear, wind, solar, methane, cogeneration, flex fuel etc.), or commercial buildings. Operating (Power) Engineers are certified professionals who apply technologies and operate and maintain equipment such as boilers, steam turbines, refrigeration, and gas compression.

OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U), Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U), Secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received, Math and English credits are required at the Grade 12 level, Test scores: TOEFL iBT of 79, IELTS of 6.0, CAEL of 60.
