This program offers students a curriculum with emphasis on the Humanities and Social Sciences. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies in higher education at either the college or university level. Students are encouraged to meet with the program co-ordinator regarding course selection and optional credits, depending on individual goals.
OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U), Secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received, Math and English credits are required at the Grade 12 level, Test scores: TOEFL iBT of 79, IELTS of 6.0, CAEL of 60.
While most students choose General Arts and Science as a pathway to further studies, some graduates of the program find employment in occupations requiring a general education or with firms that prefer to administer their own training program. The diploma from this program is recognized by several Ontario universities. Effort is made to provide courses that give students optimum transfer credits to other college and university programs.
