Program Overview

LPNs are one of three categories of professional nurses in Alberta and continue to excel as front-line nurses involved in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. As a Practical Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process, which includes providing health assessments that consider physical, social, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of clients. You will work with clients, families, and other members of the health care team to develop a plan of care that will best meet the client s needs.

High School 60% in ELA 30 -1 or 70% in ELA 30-2, 60% in Math 20-1 or 70% in Math 20-2 , 60% in Biology 30 or BV ANPH 150, MHC requires official transcripts documenting your high school and post-secondary education to make final admissions decisions, Names of all high schools and post-secondary institutions you have attended or are currently attending, High school courses and marks , English Language Requirements: AP English with a 4 or better, Cambridge English Language Assessment-180, CAEL:60 with no score below 50, Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment- Score of 7 in each band; Cambridge English Proficiency- 180 ; GCE Advanced Level A or AS level, GCSE, IGCSE- B grade or better, International Baccalaureate Coursework: English A1, A2, A Literature, or A Language and Literature with a 5 or better; OR IB English B with a 6 or better; IELTS:6.0 with no score below 6.0, MELAB: 80; PTE: 54; TOEFL PBT, TOFEL iBT: 79
