University Diploma in Social Services

UFV's two-year full-time Social Services diploma establishes a strong foundation for a career that has meaning. Rooted in principles of social justice, equality, and respect for diversity, the program provides you with a critical understanding of social work theory, social perspectives, policy initiatives, and intervention models. Aboriginal students or those with strong ties to aboriginal communities may select the program's First Nations option if they wish to gain an in-depth understanding of specific social issues pertaining to indigenous people. To integrate and apply classroom learning in practice, you participate in two supervised practica with local community agencies, which provide you with work experience and professional connections.
