The program prepares students to enter into a career in the residential and light commercial construction sector. The curriculum incorporates basic level trade theory of the general carpentry apprenticeship trade so that graduates will be productive, well-trained and aware of the hazards and safety requirements on construction sites.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, Transcripts, IELTS overall band of 6.5, TOEFL iBT 88, PTE Academic 58. Manual dexterity and the ability to work at heights and in various climatic conditions are frequent prerequisites for employment in this field.
Graduates are prepared for employment in the construction and renovation industries in a multitude of fields including general carpenter or related apprenticeship, estimating, interior and exterior finishes, and outdoor structures and fencing.
