In this program, students develop and foster creative and artistic ability in a variety of studio areas. Students are engaged and challenged to achieve their individual goals and objectives as artists within a variety of traditional and non-traditional media. Students experience both the practical and theoretical components of fine arts. Students gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for professional practice and self employment necessary to successfully operate within the various professions of fine art.
OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U), Secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received, Math and English credits are required at the Grade 12 level, Test scores: TOEFL iBT of 79, IELTS of 6.0, CAEL of 60.
A Fine Art education has inherent personal, cultural and critical value. A survey of the careers pursued by graduates of Canadian art schools would give some idea of the practical values of such an education. Graduates can be found pursuing their own professional studio practices, as well as careers in teaching, curating, commercial galleries, and sales.
