Mechanical Engineering addresses advanced topics over a wide range of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering subjects. Within the program, there is a wide range of module options and an excellent opportunity to engage in topical research with leading research groups within the School of Engineering. An important part of the programme is a research dissertation, which directly builds on some of the content of the modules. The Department has over 20 professors who are leaders in their respective fields, active in research, providing advice to industry and running their own companies to promote innovations arising from their work. Some of our leading research areas are Manufacturing, Design, Fluids, Noise and Vibration, Heat Transfer, Materials, Robotics, Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering.
An upper second-class honours degree (2.1), or better, in engineering, science, computing, statistics, mathematics or a related discipline. IELTS score of 6.5 overall.
