Program Overview

The apprentice is based in the workplace most of the time, earning a wage and gaining practical skills and experience. Attendance at college on a day release, improving theoretical knowledge and gaining additional skills. In addition, the apprentice will work towards achieving Functional Skills at level 1 in maths, English and ICT. The apprentice will work under the close supervision of a class teacher and will be supervising lessons and helping in the classroom. Depending on the teacher and the class subject, the apprentice may have the opportunity of supervising arts and crafts activities, helping with outings, or reading to the class.
