The English and Writing major at UON allows you to explore both literary studies and practice-based creative writing so that you can combine or focus your studies based on your interests and develop your strengths and skills according to your preferences. You may develop in-depth knowledge of literature in English and its transformation across time and/or practical understanding of the craft of creative writing. Whatever your focus, you will have the opportunity to develop strong writing skills. The English and Writing major is highly relevant for those pursuing careers within the creative industries as well as across a broad range of sectors needing strong skills and expertise. English and Writing provides an opportunity to develop critical thinking skills along with an in-depth understanding of writing for a range of different media.
