This major offers comprehensive study of the history, society, religions and material culture of Ancient Egypt and the Near East (particularly of Mesopotamia and the Levant). It covers a wide range of periods, from Predynastic Egypt (c 3000 BCE) and the early civilisations in the Near East, through to Late Antiquity (c 600 CE). It traces the development and interaction of the Egyptians, Israelites and other Near Eastern cultures; Greeks and Romans; as well as the origins of Judaism and Christianity. Learn about the personalities of these worlds Pharaohs and conquerors, patriarchs and prophets, farmers and artisans and the events in which they participated.
