Program Overview

Graduates of this course can apply nursing knowledge and skills to public health areas such as Indigenous health, population health issues and risk factors for illness. Professionals who are skilled across these disciplines can choose to work as a nurse in the clinical environment or as a public health professional, implementing new ways to improve community health. Graduates may also work in non-government and community organisations in roles that focus on advocacy for minority groups, or as consultants and project officers in international health agencies. Roles may include health promotion officers, school health educators, assistant epidemiologists, researchers, state and national health program managers and health policy officers.
