The curriculum is based on building an awareness and understanding of the historical, technical and contemporary aspects of art with a focus on the significance of art in society. The program offers the opportunity for professional artistic development, while incorporating subjects that lead to a liberal education.
OSU-Cascades' Art: Studio Arts degree program has a focus on printmaking that will include relief, silkscreen, intaglio, monotype printmaking. It explores ideas of multiples, publishing and dissemination. This hybrid approach will utilize both traditional and digital/technological and photographic techniques to generate images while allowing the student to learn historical contexts of printmaking and its place in contemporary art practice.
