Program Overview

The introductory foundation year focuses on developing the necessary academic skills to succeed at the degree level and provides a comprehensive overview of essential elements in criminology.

Moving on to the second year, you will delve into the foundational aspects of criminological study. This will involve gaining a deep understanding of key issues and debates, examining how society addresses crime and criminals, and exploring the fundamental concepts related to human rights, diversity, and the duty of care. Additionally, you will begin acquiring the scientific and statistical skills essential for conducting research in the field of criminology.

In your third year, you will delve into more specialized topics, expanding your knowledge in areas such as criminal law, mental health and forensic psychology, cybercrime and security, and notable case studies in criminology. Furthermore, you will continue to enhance your expertise in statistical data management, as well as refining your abilities in designing and implementing research experiments.

During your final year, you will have the opportunity to apply the subject knowledge and research skills you have gained throughout your studies. This will be done through a final year project focused on a topic of your choosing. Additionally, you will explore the subjects of young people and crime, as well as broader aspects of international law.
