Proficiency in linguistics can give you the competitive edge in the global jobs market. Linguistics is a popular course taken on its own or in combination with English, TESOL or a modern language. It is devoted to the scientific study of natural language and concerned with how languages are acquired, structured and applied. Our programme offers a sound knowledge of both theoretical and applied perspectives. If you take Spanish as a major or equal subject you will be required to spend your third year abroad. If Spanish is your minor subject, the course will be three years with no period of residence abroad. You will also have the option to study Spanish from beginners level.
104 -112 UCAS Tariff points, GCE A levels - grades BCC or equivalent. A level Spanish at Grade B or above, or accepted equivalent, is required for all applicants. Applicants without A level Spanish should contact the University to discuss options. Standard XII with a good grade and the Higher Secondary School Certificate. IELTS score of 6.0, with no scores less than 5.5 in any section. IB Diploma with minimum 26 points overall
