The Quantity Surveyor also known as a Construction Economist, or Cost Manager is one of a team of professional advisers to the construction industry. They estimate and monitor construction costs, from the feasibility stage of a project through to the completion of construction. After construction they can also be involved with tax depreciation schedules, replacement cost estimation for insurance purposes and, if necessary, mediation and arbitration. In Australia s only Master of Quantity Surveying, you will develop the expert knowledge required to estimate and monitor construction costs from project feasibility through to completion. Your studies will be highly practical, applying current theory and real-life data to the contemporary business environment. You will cover areas such as economic, social and environmental analysis, and construction claims and dispute resolution.
