The Master of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) at UNSW Sydney is a two-year postgraduate program designed for students who want to build advanced expertise in electrical engineering and prepare for professional engineering careers. Students develop practical and technical skills across areas such as electrical and electronic engineering, renewable energy, power systems, signal processing and control systems, while gaining valuable industry experience.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Students strengthen their advanced engineering knowledge through disciplinary and specialised courses. Depending on their interests, they can explore areas such as electrical and electronic engineering, renewable energy, power systems, signal processing and control systems.

Year 2: Students continue developing specialist knowledge while studying engineering and technical management, which builds skills in leadership, strategy and project management. They also complete a design course, research project and 60 days of Engineering Professional Practice, giving them the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a professional environment.
