In today's globalised world, the cultural and linguistic composition of communities is more diverse than ever before. The ability to express ourselves, to communicate with others and to decipher the multitude of messages we receive every day from both within our own culture and across others is fundamental to our existence in today's modern society. In our ever-shrinking and interconnected world, the ability to teach English to speakers of other languages is a highly desirable skill. And, the ability to teach with both cultural and linguistic sensitivity is even more valuable. With its dual focus, this course will provide you with an understanding of the complex relationship between language use and context, as well as a strong theoretical and practical foundation in the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL).

Additional Information & Requirements

Australian level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent, Bachelor degree or equivalent or Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics in one of the 3 specialisations with a GPA of 3.0 or above, A minimum of two years full time or equivalent relevant professional or language teaching experience depending on the specialisation you are interested in, proof of work experience, IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent, senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC, one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification, IB of 18, Bachelor degree which has been accredited by the professional accounting bodies in Australia, OWA of 55-66%, Completion of WASSC/SSC with B grade average in 5 relevant academic subjects
