Program Overview

The Master of Dietetics at Deakin University is a 1.5-year full-time postgraduate professional program designed to prepare students for professional practice as dietitians. Learning Outcomes: Graduates will be able to apply advanced knowledge of human nutrition and dietetics, provide nutrition care to individuals and populations, communicate nutrition information effectively, use evidence and digital technologies to address applied problems, and apply professional skills across dietetic practice.

Professional Alignment (Accreditation): The program has full accreditation from Dietitians Australia. Graduates are eligible to apply for full membership of Dietitians Australia and the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program.

Reputation (Employability): Deakin provides at least 22 weeks of supervised professional placement, including clinical, community, food service and elective settings. Students gain practical experience through university facilities and partner hospitals and health organisations, supporting employment across diverse areas of dietetics.
