Program Overview

This master degree provides you with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to become an innovative and competent occupational therapist. With a strong focus on practical skills, you will complete a substantial 1,000 hours of clinical field placements during your studies. This real-world experience will constitute a large portion of your learning. It is here that you will gain valuable practical skills that will enable a seamless transition from study to the workforce. Important industry connections will be made during these clinical placements. Patient outcomes are also a focus and therefore communication and relationship skills essential for patient care are key components. All students enrolled in a program leading to professional registration must be registered with the relevant National Board.

Additional Information & Requirements

Completed, and conferred within the past 10 years, a recognised higher education program at Bachelor degree level or higher from a recognised higher education institution, a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5 (credit average) or international equivalent in the program, uccessfully completed within the past 10 years the following pre-requisite courses from a recognised university, equivalent of 4.5 unit course of Human Anatomy at AQF Level 7. The courses must explicitly include detailed musculoskeletal anatomy, neuroanatomy and systems anatomy, equivalent of 4.5 unit course of Human Physiology at AQF Level 7, equivalent of 4.5 unit course of either Human Psychology or Sociology/Anthropology at AQF level 7, equivalent of 4.5 unit course of Research Methodologies at AQF Level 7, IELTS 7.0 in each componenet, TOEFL iBT of 94 with Reading and Writing not less than 18, CAE/CPE of 186, PTE of 65, CELUSA AE6
