Program Overview

The Master of Public Health (MPH) is designed primarily as training in advanced work. Candidates must demonstrate ability to undertake research by the submission of a thesis embodying the results of an original investigation or design. Candidates must have at least three years experience of in health services. The degree of Master of Public Health by Research may be awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Higher Degree Committee of the appropriate faculty (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) to a candidate who has demonstrated ability to undertake research by the submission of a thesis embodying the results of an original investigation or design.

Additional Information & Requirements

An undergraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management and two years full-time professional or volunteer experience. This may also include equivalent professional experience acquired as part of a degree of 4 or more years duration (e.g. MBBS, MD), TOEFL ibT 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking), PTE of 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest), Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component, CAE 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest), CPE 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest), ANU College Access Program Successful completion with a minimum of 70% overall, Grade C+ or 70% in English
