Students also complete Research Presentation Skills, Research Proposal, and approved Science and Society courses.

Year 2 – Advanced Research and Specialisation

The second year is primarily research-focused, with students completing 36 units of CHEM8033 Advanced Project in Chemistry over two consecutive semesters. The research project is conducted individually under an ANU academic supervisor and culminates in a written thesis of approximately 50 pages and a final oral presentation, while additional coursework can be selected from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or approved ANU electives.
