MA in Classical Philology in Latin

The Masters in Classical Philology Latin is grouped among the Humanities and Cultural Sciences.The objective of the programme is scientific examination of Latin language and literature. Graduates of the Masters in acquire advanced passive and basic active Latin language skills, optionally also extensive passive language skills in ancient Greek. They deepen their knowledge and understanding of ancient literature, acquire knowledge of comprehensive medieval and modern Latin literature as well as the spread of ancient cultures on the European cultural and intellectual history, and thus basically understand mediation processes (transmission, acquisition, interpretation, reinterpretation, polemical alienation etc.).
