The master s programme in African Studies aims at equipping students with profound knowledge and a critical approach to theories, methods and contents of the discipline. Graduates of the master s programme have specialist knowledge and key competences in a variety of subject areas, including African languages and literatures, as well as history and societies of Africa. In addition to extending the knowledge of theories and methods, students have the opportunity to specialise in specific subject areas and develop social scientific competences (so-called Gestaltungskompetenz)
