The MSc of Aquaculture calls upon the UGent aquaculture expertise and renomated international guest speakers to educate and train students and scholars from third countries in order to stimulate transfer of European knowledge to and from developing countries, nurturing in this way a sustainable development of aquaculture in these countries. The objective is to provide the students with a multidisciplinary education in a number of basic disciplines biology, physiology, ecology, pathology, microbiology, genetics, zootechnology, nutrition, marketing and management, economics and statistics and in specific aspects of aquaculture with the aim, in order of priority
Holders of an appropriate Belgian academic bachelor degree, Holders of a foreign university bachelor degree or higher education bachelor diploma: bachelor of minimum 3 years, In some cases applicants cannot be admitted directly to a master programme, but have to do a specific preparatory or linking course (between 45 and 90 ECTS credits) first, depending on their previous studies, English Language Requirement:TOEFL-TEST with a score of 550 (paper-based), or 80 (internet-based) or higher, IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 for writing), Certificate CEF -B2 (awarded by a European university language centre), Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE)
