Due to recent economic, societal and technological developments, Europe is confronted with a limited availability of resources. Europe is by nature poor in deposits of minerals and metals, compared to other world regions. At the same time, increasing welfare and recent technologies require more and more of certain abiotic resources, which are becoming scarce on a worldwide scale or which can only be provided from a selected number of specific regions. Raw materials are considered particularly critical if only a limited number of countries can provide them.

Holders of an appropriate Belgian academic bachelor degree, Holders of a foreign university bachelor degree or higher education bachelor diploma: bachelor of minimum 3 years, In some cases applicants cannot be admitted directly to a master programme, but have to do a specific preparatory or linking course (between 45 and 90 ECTS credits) first, depending on their previous studies, English Language Requirement:TOEFL-TEST with a score of 550 (paper-based), or 80 (internet-based) or higher, IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 for writing), Certificate CEF -B2 (awarded by a European university language centre), Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE)
