Objectives and Attainment Targets of the Study Programme:The teaching programme for Eastern European Languages and Cultures EELC at the University of Ghent is based on the following fundamental assets:academic knowledge of Eastern European languages and cultures, integrated knowledge acquisition.The teaching programme EELC offers students courses which allow them to acquire an intermediate BA or advanced MA level of at least two modern East European languages and and insight into Slavic cultures conceived of very broadly. A crucial point is that language acquisition rather than being considered an aim in itself, is treated as a means to access and understand East European cultures.

Holders of an appropriate Belgian academic bachelor degree, Holders of a foreign university bachelor degree or higher education bachelor diploma: bachelor of minimum 3 years, In some cases applicants cannot be admitted directly to a master programme, but have to do a specific preparatory or linking course (between 45 and 90 ECTS credits) first, depending on their previous studies, Certificate ITNA B2, B2-certificate from a university language centre, Certificate STRT 'Educatief Startbekwaam' under Dutch as a Foreign Language, Passing the entrance examination medicine-dentistry study programmes
