Program Overview

The training programme has been devised to prepare physicians to take on the type of medical practice in which they are required to put forward medico-legal advice in a duly self-reliant and scientifically responsible manner, both in a private health insurance environment as well as within the scope of state-organised social security. For this purpose, the training programme focuses on training students to acquire the appropriate knowledge, skills and practice-related competences with a due emphasis on the medical aspects of the evaluation of physical injury in patients and on the legal and organisational aspects of insurance institutions.

Holders of an appropriate Belgian academic bachelor degree, Holders of a foreign university bachelor degree or higher education bachelor diploma: bachelor of minimum 3 years, In some cases applicants cannot be admitted directly to a master programme, but have to do a specific preparatory or linking course (between 45 and 90 ECTS credits) first, depending on their previous studies, C1-Certificate 'Educatief Professioneel' awarded by Nederlandse Taalunie, Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal, Certificate ITNA C1 - awarded by the Ghent University Language Centre, C1-certificate from a university language centre
